Netflix subscribers have limited time to watch one of the most acclaimed thrillers of the 2010s. Directed by Bong Joon Ho, Parasite will be leaving Netflix later this month. The 2019 South Korean film drew global attention for its gripping narrative.
January is the last month to watch Parasite on Netflix
Netflix viewers have limited time remaining to stream Parasite as the Oscar-winning thriller will be soon leaving the streamer. The 2019 film directed by Bong Joon Ho is scheduled to leave the platform at the end of this month. January 31, 2026, listed as its final day of availability for Parasite (via Collider).
Set against a backdrop of sharp social inequality, Parasite follows the Kim family, who struggle to survive in near poverty. However, their circumstances begin to change when the Kim family’s son, Ki-woo, is offered a tutoring job for the Parks’ daughter through a friend’s recommendation. Gradually, each member of his family secure employment within the Park household through lies and deception.
As the two families become increasingly entangled, the tensions rise and hidden motives come to the surface. The film stars Song Kang-ho as Kim Ki-taek, Lee Sun-kyun as Park Dong-ik, Cho Yeo-jeong as Choi Yeon-gyo, Choi Woo-shik as Kim Ki-woo, and Park So-dam as Kim Ki-jung, among others.
Parasite remains one of the most highly regarded films of the 2010s. It holds exceptional review scores, with a 99 percent critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 485 reviews and a 90 percent audience score on the Popcornmeter. It was also a major commercial success, earning more than $262 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo).
Parasite went on to earn widespread recognition across major award platforms, making history by winning Best Picture at the 92nd Academy Awards. The film also earned top honors at the Grand Bell Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards, among several others.
