Tim Burton and Johnny Depp’s wonderful Edward Scissorhands celebrates its 35th anniversary this month. Not only did it receive a wonderful SteelBook 4K release, but it’s also getting a really cool collab from Mattel in the Monster High Skullector Edward Scissorhands Doll. ComingSoon was able to get our hands on the collector’s item, which is one of the most fitting crossovers we’ve seen and is available on sale at Mattel Creations starting December 5 at 9 a.m. PT.

Standing nearly a foot-tall at 10.5 inches, the Monster High Skullector Edward Scissorhands Doll is immediately striking. Mattel has done a great job crafting a genderbent version of the film’s protagonist, with her scissorhands and distinctive hair making her immediately recognizable. She also wears a black faux leather bodysuit, and her boots’ heels incorporate Easter eggs from the Tim Burton movie. The attention to detail is really top-notch, and she looks great.

This is truly a collector’s item built for fans of the film and meant to be displayed proudly. While it looks great inside the stylish, premium fold-out box the doll comes in, you can really admire the small details once she is out of the box. While the doll can’t stand on its own, especially with those heels, there’s a great doll stand that is included. The doll has 11 different points of articulation, so she’s easy to pose in a fun way and interact with the environment you create with her (pairing her with some nicely trimmed plants would be a fun nod to the film).

Retailing at $70, the Monster High Skullector Edward Scissorhands Doll is a wonderful crossover that pays homage to the classic Tim Burton movie while also feeling right in place with any other Monster High dolls you might own. This limited-time release isn’t one to miss for fans of the 1990 Johnny Depp film and can be wonderfully displayed.
