Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist film continues to fill out its cast, with a new report revealing that a former DCEU star is set to join the upcoming horror film.
What former DCEU star is joining Mike Flanagan’s The Exorcist?
According to a new report from Deadline, Sasha Calle is set to join the cast of The Exorcist. Alongside her roles in movies like On Swift Horses and The Rip, Calle made her feature film debut in 2023’s The Flash, where she briefly played the role of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. She’ll next star in Season 2 of Apple TV+’s neo-noir mystery drama series Sugar.
Calle joins a cast that already features a ton of big names. Alongside her, The Exorcist is set to star Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.
Character details are being kept under wraps at this time. Not much is known about the plot of the new Exorcist movie other than that it will not be a sequel to 2023’s The Exorcist: Believer, which was directed by David Gordon Green. That movie was supposed to kick off a new trilogy; however, those plans were scrapped after Believer underperformed at the box office and was negatively received by most audiences and critics.
The script for the new Exorcist movie comes from Flanagan. He also produces the film for his Red Room Pictures banner alongside David Robinson for Morgan Creek Entertainment and Jason Blum for Blumhouse-Atomic Monster. Alexandra Magistro and Ryan Turek both serve as executive producers.
Production is expected to take place in New York City. Flanagan’s Exorcist movie, which does not yet have an official title, is currently scheduled to hit United States theaters on March 12, 2027. Flanagan is also working on a remake of Carrie, which will be a Prime Video miniseries, that wrapped production in October 2025.
