Lionsgate has released the official Michael trailer showing off more of Jaafar Jackson‘s incredible transformation for the Michael Jackson biopic.
“Michael is the cinematic portrayal of the life and legacy of one of the most influential artists the world has ever known. The film tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson Five, to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins,” says the official synopsis.

Who is in the Michael trailer?
Michael’s cast includes Nia Long as mother Katherine Jackson, Laura Harrier as music executive Suzanne de Passe, Juliano Krue Valdi as young Michael, Miles Teller as entertainment lawyer John Branca, and Colman Domingo as father Joe Jackson.
Antoine Fuqua directs Michael from a screenplay by John Logan. Bohemian Rhapsody’s Graham King is a producer on Michael alongside Branca and John McClain.
Filming on Michael began in January 2024 and ended four months later. Michael’s initial release date was April 18, 2025, before Lionsgate pushed it to October 3, 2025. Reshoots moved the release date back even further. The studio considered splitting the movie into two parts before ultimately deciding on one for now.
Michael opens in theaters on April 24, 2026.
