Michael B. Jordan’s acclaimed vampire film Sinners is heading to Prime Video. After a successful theatrical run and widespread critical praise, the genre-bending drama from director Ryan Coogler will soon be available to stream. As its streaming debut approaches, interest in the film continues to grow.
Sinners begins streaming on Prime Video in December
Sinners begins streaming on Prime Video on December 26, 2025, following its initial digital release on June 3 and a theatrical debut on April 18 (via ComicBook.com). The film is directed, written, and produced by Ryan Coogler and stars Michael B. Jordan in dual roles as identical twin brothers Elijah “Smoke” and Elias “Stack” Moore.
Set in 1932 Mississippi, the film follows the twins as they return to Clarksdale to open a juke joint for the local Black community. Their business soon draws the attention of supernatural forces, including an Irish vampire named Remmick. The supporting cast includes Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Delroy Lindo.
Coogler’s Proximity Media developed Sinners, and Warner Bros. Pictures acquired distribution rights after a competitive bidding war. The production filmed in Louisiana from April to July 2024, using IMAX 15-perf and Ultra Panavision 70 cameras. Autumn Durald Arkapaw became the first woman to shoot a film in large format IMAX as the cinematographer.
Sinners premiered at AMC Lincoln Square on April 3, 2025, and earned $367 million globally. It holds a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a Metacritic score of 84, and an “A” grade from CinemaScore audiences.
Blending Southern Gothic, horror, and musical elements, the film centers blues music in its narrative. Composer Ludwig Göransson scored the film using a 1932 Dobro Cyclops resonator guitar and recorded live with artists like Cedric Burnside and Brittany Howard.
The film won several honors, including Critics’ Choice Super Awards for Best Horror Movie and Best Actor (Michael B. Jordan), and a Fangoria Chainsaw Award for Best Director (Ryan Coogler). It also received Grammy nominations, including Best Score Soundtrack Album for Visual Media.
