Fans who were hoping to see a Luke Cage cameo in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 might feel disappointed with what Mike Colter had to say about the Marvel character’s potential MCU return. In a recent sit-down, Colter, who portrayed Cage in Netflix’s shared Defenders universe, admitted that he wants to reprise the role, albeit with an evident touch of hesitance.
Mike Colter gives mixed reaction to Luke Cage’s potential Marvel return
During his recent appearance at the MegaCon in Orlando, the Evil alum opened up about his desire to step back into the role of Luke Cage.
While answering a fan question in a panel moderated by Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, Mike Colter noted, “If it happens, it happens. Charlie [Cox] really likes doing Daredevil, and he’s always trying to chat with me about coming back, so I was happy for him to have a chance to revisit that role. And yes, I’d like to come back and do more stuff with Luke Cage, but there’s also so much more story to tell with other characters. It’s just one piece of the things that I want to do. So when I say that I want to come back and do it for the fans, I genuinely do, because they deserve to see the scripts that were written but not produced.”
Despite his reluctance to return to the MCU as Luke Cage, Colter confirmed that the superhero was “still in Harlem.”
Notably, the comeback of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 prompted many Marvel fans to think that Colter’s Luke Cage will also make an appearance in the hit Disney+ series.
Recent reports have also suggested that the man with superhuman strength is all set to make a cameo in the second season, along with Finn Jones’ Danny Rand, AKA Iron Fist. However, Marvel has yet to officially confirm their return in any capacity.
