The cast of Landman has shared their thoughts on the show’s future ahead of creator Taylor Sheridan’s exit from Paramount. In a recent interview, actor Mark Collie suggested that Sheridan could remain involved with the series at some level. Meanwhile, showrunner Christian Wallace expressed confidence about the popular series’ future.
Landman stars on show’s future after Taylor Sheridan’s paramount exit
The future of Landman remains a topic of discussion as series creator Taylor Sheridan prepares to leave Paramount once his contract ends in 2028. Sheridan will shift his upcoming television projects to NBCUniversal under a new five-year deal beginning in 2029. Despite his exit, Landman showrunner Christian Wallace, along with actors Mustafa Speaks and Mark Collie, shared their thoughts on the series’ future.
Speaking to Screen Rant, Speaks stated that he could not predict how the series might evolve without Sheridan. However, he noted, “With Taylor, there’s always going to be a level of excitement, always going to be a level of unpredictability and intensity that the fans always know and love.”
Meanwhile, Collie expressed confidence in the show’s future, saying, “It’s just going to keep on rocking.” He said, “I think it’s just going to keep on rocking, man.” The actor added that Sheridan would likely remain involved in some capacity.
Wallace also addressed questions about how Sheridan’s eventual exit might impact the series. He clarified that Sheridan’s contract remains active for several years, assuring that Landman still has “a lot of runway left.” The showrunner added, “That contract is not ending anytime soon, and so we’re just going to keep doing exactly what we’ve been doing. Nothing at all has changed, so that’s for a future person to worry about.”
Wallace also shared that Landman still holds many unexplored stories, saying the series has “barely skimmed the surface.”
