In a recent interview, Josh Gad revealed that when the creative team for Wonder Man approached him for his wild cameo in the Disney+ series, he told Marvel boss Kevin Feige that he had one condition. Gad appears as a conceited, fictional version of himself in Episode 4 of the series. Wonder Man premiered on January 27, 2026, with all eight episodes.

Josh Gad recently told The Los Angeles Times that he had only one condition after Marvel spoke to him about the “crazy idea” of him doing a cameo in Wonder Man. “I said to Kevin Feige … as long as I get to still play a character down the road in the MCU that isn’t Josh Gad, I’m happy to do this,” Gad said. “He said yes, so it was like, ‘Let’s buckle up and go on this weird journey together.’”

This means that fans could still potentially see Gad portraying a Marvel character in the MCU in the future. However, at the time of this article’s composition, it’s unclear what that might be.

In Wonder Man, the fictionalized version of Gad becomes the employer and friend of Byron Bowers’ DeMarr Davis / Doorman. As Bowers possesses the power to phase through solid objects and teleport items and individuals through his body, Gad ends up disappearing inside him.

Gad has been active in the entertainment industry for over two decades and has appeared in movies like Watching the Detectives (2007), Love & Other Drugs (2010), The Internship (2013), Beauty and the Beast (2017), and Adulthood (2025). He has also played a variety of roles in TV shows such as NBC’s 1600 Penn, FX’s The Comedians, and Stan/Peacock’s Wolf Like Me. Additionally, Gad garnered widespread recognition for voicing Olaf in the Frozen franchise and Chuck in the Angry Birds movies.

Some of Gad’s upcoming projects include The Angry Birds Movie 3 and Spaceballs 2.
