Weapons, The Boys and more previewed in Prime Video’s April releases trailer
Prime Video has released its April 2026 content trailer, spotlighting horror film Weapons among its major upcoming titles. Directed and written by Zach Cregger, the film follows seventeen children who mysteriously vanish from the same classroom on the same night.
Weapons stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. Madigan plays Aunt Gladys, a distant relative who bewitches a family and traps children in a basement. Her performance won the Academy Award and Actor Award for Best Supporting Actress.
The film grossed $270 million worldwide against a $38 million budget. It opened to $43.5 million, making Warner Bros. the first studio to have six consecutive films open above $40 million. Rotten Tomatoes certified it at 93%, with the site calling it a sophomore triumph that solidifies Cregger’s status as a master of horror.
YouTube viewers reacted positively to the film’s inclusion in the trailer. One commenter called Weapons their favorite 2025 horror movie, while another simply said the film was great. Cregger is also currently developing a prequel focusing on Aunt Gladys, written alongside Zach Shields.
The trailer also prominently features The Boys season 5, which premieres April 8 with a two-episode debut. The final season sees Homelander tightening his control while Billy Butcher returns carrying a virus targeting all Supes. Action-comedy Balls Up, starring Mark Wahlberg and Paul Walter Hauser, hits Prime Video on April 15, with Spanish-language miniseries The House of the Spirits following on April 29.
