Jason Statham’s latest action movie has found a second life online, quickly rising on U.S. digital rental charts after a muted theatrical run earlier this year. The 2026 thriller, which struggled to match its production budget in cinemas, is now gaining traction on premium video-on-demand platforms as audiences discover it at home.

Jason Statham’s Shelter is a streaming hit on digital PVOD

Shelter, starring Jason Statham, was released on digital platforms and is currently ranking at the top of VOD charts in the United States, according to FlixPatrol. Data updated on February 25, 2026, shows the film holding the No. 1 position on the Apple TV Store in the U.S. yesterday, with an average ranking of 1 and 20 total points. It also registered 52 points on Amazon’s U.S. chart.

FlixPatrol tracks VOD charts and streaming rankings worldwide and updates its Top 10 lists daily. On the Apple TV Store chart, the film ranked No. 1 in both the United States and Canada yesterday. It recorded two top positions across those markets. On Amazon, it appeared at No. 4 on the U.S. Top 10 list.

Ric Roman Waugh directed and Ward Parry wrote Shelter, a 2026 action thriller. The film follows a former British government assassin who lives in isolation off the coast of Scotland. He confronts renewed conflict while protecting a young girl from the agency that pursues him. The cast features Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie, and Daniel Mays.

The filmmakers premiered the film at Cineworld Leicester Square in London on January 20, 2026. Black Bear Pictures released it in the United States and the United Kingdom on January 30, 2026. The film has grossed $36 million worldwide against a $50 million production budget.

On Rotten Tomatoes, 64 percent of 107 reviews are positive. Metacritic assigned a score of 50 out of 100, based on reviews from 23 critics, indicating a mixed or average reception.
