Ozark star Jason Bateman may have gone to one of the strangest schools in the country, as per a recent set of revelations on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Bateman recounted almost bizarre stories from this particular school, which included classes in the back of the bus, massage as a subject, and having one kid per grade.
Jason Bateman describes his strange school classes
During his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jason Bateman spoke about his bizarre school, which featured some activities and ways that are usually unheard of. During his discussion with Jimmy Kimmel on the show, Kimmel asked him, “Correct me if I have this wrong, but am I right in remembering you went to school in, besides going to a school in a school bus, a school bus school, you also were went to school in a teepee at one point.”
“Same school,” Bateman laughed. “I there was a I think I was in uh 8th grade and there was a school called Heartlight.” He continued, “So this school, this was out deep in the valley, and um and uh these geniuses decided that what they’re going to do is they’re going to expose this uh student body of about 20,” Bateman continued. Kimmel interrupted, asking if it was 20 students overall.
Bateman said that there were indeed 20 students across all grades, which amounted to about 1 student per grade. “It was a nightmare. So, uh, what there were…country days and city days and the country days were out there in the valley, and this is where the teepee was, and then the city days is we’d get in this converted bus,” Bateman explained, “Full length school bus and the back half of it they had taken all the seats out and they put in school desks.”
“So what they would do is they put us in this bus, and we drive from Calabasas. If you know this city, it’s about an hour and a half to get through traffic all the way into the city,” Bateman explained. “So they thought, we’re going to expose these kids to museums. But on the way there in this stifling traffic, we’re going to run through classes in the back of the bus. Kind of creative, but these dirty hippies came up with like, I mean, that’s like it’s like a really freaky idea to have.”
Bateman further revealed that they had interesting subjects, like massage. Bateman explained that massage was an elective subject that he had. It included both giving and getting massages.
Bateman also revealed that on their country days, they would sit in a tepee and “share.”
So, all this combined makes it seem like Bateman went to one of the most offbeat schools around and has some incredible stories about the same.
