A 2023 psychological thriller featuring Jamie Dornan will be released on Hulu later this month. The movie features an impressive cast and is loosely based on a popular Agatha Christie novel, adapting the classic whodunnit story into a feature film.
A Haunting in Venice begins streaming on Hulu in April
A Haunting in Venice will arrive on Hulu on Wednesday, April 30, 2026, according to the platform’s schedule.
The story takes place in 1947 Venice, Italy, where detective Hercule Poirot enjoys a quiet life. His friend and author, Ariadne Oliver, persuades him to attend a séance hosted by a psychic medium named Joyce, who claims she can communicate with Alicia, the daughter of a deceased opera singer. Reluctantly, he attends the séance at a decaying palazzo. When one of the guests is mysteriously murdered, Poirot sets out to identify the killer.
It is a loose adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1969 novel Hallowe’en Party and the third entry in the modern Hercule Poirot movie series.
Kenneth Branagh portrayed the iconic detective and also helmed the movie with a screenplay by Michael Green. It also stars Jamie Dornan as Dr. Leslie, Michelle Yeoh as Joyce, Tina Fey as Ariadne, Kelly Reilly as Rowena, Camille Cottin as Olga, and Kyle Allen as Maxime, among others.
20th Century Studios produced A Haunting in Venice on a reported budget of $60 million. It arrived in theaters in September 2023. Upon release, the critics praised the movie. Based on nearly 300 reviews, it holds a 76% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Additionally, in a rare instance, audiences matched the critics’ score, earning a 76% rating as well.
Commercially, the movie went on to make $122.2 million at the global box office (via Box Office Mojo). Furthermore, when it arrived on iTunes, it reportedly ranked #1 for a brief period during the 2023 Halloween season (via IndieWire).
