The Neighborhood to stream on Netflix very soon
The CBS sitcom The Neighborhood is set to arrive on Netflix soon. According to What’s on Netflix, the series will be available to stream on the platform starting November 5, 2026.
Created by Jim Reynolds, The Neighborhood is a CBS sitcom that aired for 8 seasons from October 1, 2018, to May 11, 2026. The series explores the relationship between two families whose different backgrounds initially create tension but eventually bring them closer.
The plot follows Dave Johnson and his family after they leave Michigan for a new home in Pasadena, California. Their arrival draws the attention of their neighbor, Calvin Butler. He is concerned about how the newcomers might affect the predominantly Black Neighborhood. Despite their differing perspectives, Dave and Calvin gradually develop a friendship.
Their families also grow closer, facing everyday challenges and finding ways to help one another as they navigate life as neighbors. The series stars Cedric the Entertainer as Calvin Butler and Max Greenfield as Dave Johnson. Other cast members include Tichina Arnold as Tina Butler, Beth Behrs as Gemma Johnson, Sheaun McKinney as Malcolm Butler, and Marcel Spears as Marty Butler, among others.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the sitcom has an audience rating of 67 percent. Robert Lloyd of the LA Times reported, “Stripped down to its essentials, it’s a familiar sort of comedy about a person who would like to be left alone and the person who won’t leave him alone.”
