The fascinating premise of His & Hers explores intense drama and builds toward a major twist that few viewers saw coming. Based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Alice Feeney, the story follows detective Jack Harper and his former wife, journalist Anna Andrews, as they reunite to solve a series of murders. However, by the end of the six-episode run, one of them uncovers a truth far more devastating than expected.

Who killed Zoe, Helen, and Rachel in His & Hers’ ending plot twist, and why?
The story begins with a single murder, but two more killings soon follow, turning the investigation into a serial murder case. As the narrative unfolds, both Jack and Anna become suspects in the deaths of the three women with whom they shared direct connections. However, the finale reveals that the real killer was Alice, Anna’s mother.
Throughout the series, subtle clues suggest that something traumatic occurred during Anna’s 16th birthday party. It is eventually revealed that Zoe, Helen, and Rachel lured Anna into the woods and orchestrated her assault. Catherine was also assaulted in the woods but managed to escape. Both Anna and Catherine were victims of the same group, yet they turned against each other without fully understanding the truth.
Alice uncovered what happened years later while watching old videos Anna had recorded. From that moment, she devised an elaborate plan to exact revenge, which included faking dementia. She also successfully framed Lexy for the murders, effectively ensuring that all four girls who were present that night were implicated or eliminated.
Anna ultimately learns the truth through handwritten notes left behind by Alice. The series concludes with Anna grappling with the emotional weight of the secret she now carries.
What happened to Catherine, aka Lexy, in His & Hers?
In the fifth episode, Anna appears to identify Lexy as the killer after discovering that she is actually Catherine Alexis Kelly, a former school outcast who shared a traumatic history with her. Catherine believed Anna participated in her bullying alongside the other three girls and later targeted Anna’s career after reinventing herself. Her transformation made it nearly impossible for anyone from her past to recognize her.
In the final episode, Lexy confronts Anna, and the situation escalates into a violent struggle. Priya ultimately shoots Lexy, killing her. At that point, it appears Lexy committed the murders to seek revenge against Zoe, Helen, and Rachel.
However, the series later clarifies that Lexy did kill someone. However, she was not responsible for the deaths of the three women. Lexy was instead connected to the death of her sister Andrea, who had also bullied her at home.
All the episodes of His & Hers are now streaming on Netflix.
