Halle Berry has commented on the speculation of her Avengers: Doomsday return once again. As rumors swirl around the expanding cast of Avengers: Doomsday, the Oscar winner has given a firm verdict on whether fans should expect to see her reprise Storm in the upcoming blockbuster. Longtime Marvel watchers know secrecy is part of the studio’s playbook. But her latest statement may or may not be hiding a secret.
Halle Berry once again clarifies if she’s returning in Avengers: Doomsday
During an interview tied to her upcoming film Crime 101, which also stars Mark Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth, Berry was jokingly asked whether the project could serve as a precursor to the next Avengers installment. Smiling at the suggestion, she responded directly: “Storm is not in the Avengers movie.” She doubled down moments later, adding, “I promise you, we all think I’m being coy, and I’m being silly, but I’m not. I’m not there, OK.”
Berry has repeatedly stated that she is not part of Avengers: Doomsday, despite Marvel confirming a lineup that includes the full X-Men cast. Her firm denial has done little to quiet speculation, especially given Marvel’s history of guarding surprises. Andrew Garfield famously denied his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home before ultimately appearing alongside Tobey Maguire. That precedent has fueled theories that Berry could still be keeping a secret.
Fan reactions online have been split. Some viewers say they take her at her word, with one commenting, “I believe her. We probably won’t see Storm until Black Panther 3 as T’Challa’s wife.” Others remain skeptical, referencing past Marvel secrecy. One fan shared an Andrew Garfield Spider-Man GIF, writing, “She reminds me of someone.” Another predicted, “She’s being saved for Secret Wars, with a very pivotal role.”
Avengers: Doomsday is one of Marvel Studios’ next major ensemble films. It is expected to bring together established Avengers and X-Men characters. James Marsden, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and Kelsey Grammer’s inclusion have already generated buzz.
Avengers: Doomsday is slated to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
