The release date estimate for Greenland 3 is highly anticipated among fans of the franchise. With the release of Greenland 2: Migration earlier this month, Greenland has officially become a franchise. The series has continued to entertain its viewers with its post-apocalyptic setting. Now, fans are eager to learn whether a third movie is in the works or not. So, has the Garrity family’s story concluded? Is there more to their story?

Without further ado, here’s what we know so far about Greenland 3’s release date estimate, news, and updates.

What is Greenland 3’s release date estimate?

The release date estimate for Greenland 3 is estimated to be sometime between 2030 and 2032. This is based on the gap between the first two movies.

The first film, Greenland, debuted on digital platforms on December 18, 2020, while the sequel, Greenland 2: Migration, premiered in theaters on January 9, 2026, marking a gap of six years between the two releases. So, if the studio decides to follow the same release pattern, the movie could arrive anytime between 2030 and 2032, if greenlit.

Currently, there have been no official words from the studio or any of the cast members regarding a third movie.

The first movie was released during the COVID-19 pandemic, which also impacted any work on the sequel. So, if Greenland 2: Migration performs well at the box office, the third installment could arrive much sooner.

Additionally, the second movie had a significantly higher budget of $90 million, compared to the $35 million budget on the first one. Based on a general rule of thumb, the second movie needs to make at least 2.5 times its budget. This is around $225 million. It is to be considered a breakeven. Since its release, the movie earned approximately $8.5 million, per Deadline.

Greenland 3’s cast members could include Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Roman Griffin Davis, Tommie Earl Jenkins, and others.
