George Clooney, who, along with his wife, Amal Clooney, and his two children, gained French citizenship in December, fired back at President Donald Trump after the latter’s comments on Truth Social. Trump criticized Clooney and his family for the move in an elaborate post. In response, Clooney suggested that a midterm election could put the country on the right track.
George Clooney responds to Donald Trump’s remarks about French citizenship
George Clooney and his family recently got French citizenship. The actor previously expressed how he wanted to raise his children away from the glitz of Hollywood.
However, this did not seem to sit well with President Donald Trump, who had elaborate things to say about this move.
“Good News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France, which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social handle.
He continued, “Remember when Clooney, after the now infamous debate, dumped Joe during a fundraiser, only to go onto the side of another stellar candidate, Jamala(K!), who is now fighting it out with the worst governor in the Country, including Tim Waltz, Gavin Newscum, for who is going to lead the Democrats to their future defeat.”
The President further hit out at George Clooney’s career, saying that he was not a movie star at all. “Clooney got more publicity for politics than he did for his very few, and totally mediocre, movies. He wasn’t a movie star at all, he was just an average guy who complained constantly about common sense in politics. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” he concluded.
Clooney, who has been a vocal critic of the President, did not hold back in his response. “I totally agree with the current president,” Clooney said (via Variety), “We have to make America great again. We’ll start in November.”
Clooney seems to be suggesting that the Democrats could retake the House and possibly the Senate in the next election.
