Over the past weeks, there has been constant chatter about Sonny taking on Sidwell in General Hospital after the latter’s antics have seemingly gotten out of hand. Sonny actor Maurice Benard provided a teasing update on the storyline from his official X account. This comes amid ongoing debates surrounding Sonny and Sidwell.

Maurice Benard says Sonny’s ‘coming back with a vengeance’ in General Hospital

After weeks of intensifying debate about Sonny taking on Sidwell and potentially returning to his old ways, Maurice Benard has given a hint on X about the future of the Sonny and Sidwell storyline.

User @Amanda3cb wrote, “I’ve been thinking that Sonny has secretly retired from the mob. He’s just chilling with Fiz & giving out grandpa advice to Gio, etc,” along with a video of Sonny playing with Fiz.

Benard replied to the post from his official account. “Sonny’s coming back with a vengeance, and everybody thinks he isn’t better watch out,” he wrote, sparking excitement among fans about Sonny returning to his mob boss roots. The reply also prompted numerous responses from fans of General Hospital.

“Time for Sonny to take care of business, especially Sidwell, who’s been kicking dirt in Sonny’s face & wreaking havoc all over Port Charles. All that he’s done needs to be exposed & dealt with,” one user wrote, while another user added, “Don Corinthos gotta make them remember who he is!” Another user added, “Gotta watch those silent types. The final showdown with Sonny and Sidwell is going to be epic! Of course, we all know the ending, it’s just watching it go down.”

Previously, in social media discussions, fans have indicated that their support largely remains with Sonny, the original mob boss of Port Charles.
