General Hospital will feature a crossover with the Broadway musical Aladdin, bringing a fresh, bigger storyline with a new tone and exciting energy across episodes. The show now carries a fun Broadway-style energy across multiple episodes.

General Hospital to have crossover with Broadway production of Aladdin

General Hospital moves into new creative territory with its upcoming storyline. The show blends its daytime drama style with the Broadway version of Aladdin, as per Entertainment Weekly.

The story follows Gio and Emma as things begin to unfold quickly. They travel to New York City together, stepping outside their usual Port Charles setting. There, they meet Michael James Scott, who plays the Genie in the stage musical.

The connection is not random here, because Gio already knows him from his time in a Broadway orchestra. Later, the story shifts direction, but it stays connected overall. Scott arrives in Port Charles, bringing the crossover full circle in a simple way.

During his visit, he performs “Friend Like Me” at The Savoy, and the moment adds a musical twist. While it will feels lively, slightly different, and not exactly the usual soap format. This crossover also highlights a long-standing connection behind the scenes.

General Hospital airs on ABC, which has been owned by Disney since 1995. The Aladdin musical itself is based on the 1992 animated film, which remains one of Disney’s most popular titles.

The episodes are scheduled across late April and early May. The story begins with the New York trip, and then it returns to Port Charles gradually. The crossover timing also lines up with a major milestone for the show.
