General Hospital fans were jolted when a familiar voice echoed through Port Charles, signaling the return of one of the show’s most notorious villains. Cesar Faison, long believed to be dead, has reappeared in a shocking twist that has viewers rethinking everything they knew about the character’s fate.
Here’s everything we know about it.
Anders Hove reprises his role as Cesar Faison on General Hospital with a twist
In the January 16 episode, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was completely shaken when she heard a voice she knew all too well through the speaker in her locked-down holding room. It was Cesar Faison, voiced by Anders Hove, the same villain who has haunted General Hospital since 1990 and made Anna’s life a nightmare for years. Everyone thought Faison was long gone after he killed his own son, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), but hearing him again made it clear his shadow still looms large (via Soap Opera Digest).
Longtime viewers know Faison never truly disappears. He’s been shot, declared dead, and even had his brain kept in a jar, yet he keeps coming back. This time, it is a warped voice tempting Anna with talk of a “new life.” Anna also recieved a a package containing a book he wrote, complete with a note, “For my muse—C.”
The unsettling events continued as Anna’s captors brought in someone pretending to be her old frenemy, Liesl Obrecht. She insisted that Faison still lives. Anna said Faison is gone, but is told that “You know better than that.”
So is Faison actually alive, or is this all part of Sidwell and his partner Pascal’s scheme? They aim to scare Anna and hide their illegal dealings. Later, we also see an ashtray with one of Faison’s signature cigarillos, followed by his voice on an intercom.
For now, it looks like Faison’s “return” isn’t about bringing him back from the dead, but about getting inside Anna’s mind and pushing the bigger mystery tied to shady business in Port Charles.
