A major Daredevil: Born Again character won’t be returning for Season 2.
Marvel Television’s Daredevil: Born Again premiered on Disney+ this past March. A continuation of the Netflix Daredevil series, the show stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher. A second season of the MCU show is scheduled to arrive next year, while a third season is also in development.
Who won’t be appearing in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
According to Empire Magazine’s recent interview with executive producer Sana Amanat, per GamesRadar, Bernthal will not appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
Reasons as to why Bernthal won’t return are unclear at this time. It may be because the MCU has other things in store for Frank as he’ll soon be appearing in a Punisher special and Spider-Man 4, also known as Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The latter of those two titles will be released on July 31, 2025, while the Punisher special does not yet have a release date.
In addition to Cox and D’Onofrio, the cast of the Marvel show’s second season includes Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Wilson Bethel as Benjamin “Dex” Poindexter/Bullseye, Zabryna Guevara as Sheila Rivera, Nikki M. James as Kirsten McDuffie, Genneya Walton as BB Urich, Arty Froushan as Buck Cashman, Clark Johnson as Cherry, Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blake, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Matthew Lillard as Mr. Charles, and more.
Plot details for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 remain under wraps at this point. The season will premiere on March 4, 2026. The first Marvel Studios season, along with all three seasons of the Netflix series and The Defenders crossover, are all currently available to watch on Disney+.
