F1 star Damson Idris has once again addressed ongoing speculation linking him to the role of Black Panther. As rumors continue to swirl about the future of the iconic Marvel hero, the actor has shared his thoughts amid renewed public attention surrounding his recent work.

What Damson Idris said about Black Panther rumors

Following the release of F1, Damson Idris once again found himself fielding questions about rumors suggesting he could take over the Black Panther mantle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The speculation resurfaced publicly during the Golden Globes, where Variety asked Idris about how frequently his name is linked to both James Bond and Wakanda.

Addressing the Black Panther chatter, Idris said, “I am thankful to the fans. Of course, it’s a rumor, but I love that movie. I love the world.” He reiterated his appreciation later in the conversation, adding, “I am glad that everyone sees a future in that too because it’s moving in a brilliant direction. And I am excited for the third one.” The actor stopped short of confirming any involvement, keeping his comments focused on appreciation rather than implication.

During the same interaction, the interviewer noted that director Ryan Coogler was present and asked whether Idris had any ideas to pitch, even hypothetically. Idris replied simply, “Just make sure it’s amazing, but I know he will do that.”

Despite Idris downplaying the Black Panther 3 speculation, rumors have continued to circulate. A recent claim from insider Louai Turkmani and The Geeky Cast podcast suggested that Idris had been spending significant time at Pinewood Studios in Nashville and could be filming material for multiple Marvel projects. These reportedly include Avengers: Doomsday, Avengers: Secret Wars, and Black Panther 3. As of now, Marvel Studios has not confirmed any casting related to these claims.

However, it has been confirmed that Letitia Wright will appear as Shuri, also known as Black Panther, in Avengers: Doomsday, alongside Winston Duke’s M’Baku and Tenoch Huerta Mejía’s Namor. Until Marvel clarifies its long-term plans, Idris remains a fan-favorite name tied to the rumor mill.
