Elisabeth Moss will star in a new Hulu TV show written by House creator David Shore.
Moss is known for playing June Osborne in Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, which completed its six-season run last April. She also famously portrayed Peggy Olson in AMC’s Mad Men and recently starred in Max Minghella’s Shell movie.
What do we know about Elisabeth Moss’ new Hulu TV show?
Per Deadline, Moss is now set to star in Conviction, a legal drama show that has been given an official series order from Hulu and 20th Television.
The show is based on the 2023 book of the same name that was written by Jack Jordan. Additionally, it has been announced that Jordan has signed a development deal with 20th Television and that two more of his books — 2024’s Redemption and 2026’s Deception — are in development.
The article notes, “Written by Shore, Conviction centers on criminal Defense Attorney Neve Harper (Moss), a confident lawyer who finally has her shot at a career-making case: a high-profile murder where the husband is accused of killing his wife by setting their home on fire. But when a mysterious stranger begins blackmailing Neve, she is forced to compromise every legal, moral, and ethical obligation to gain an acquittal — or else risk her dark secrets being exposed.
“While Conviction had been in development for a while, its green light came pretty quickly. After the initially commissioned pilot script written by Shore was delivered, Hulu requested additional material, including an outline-type document on the second episode, sources said. Instead of doing that, I hear Shore surprised executives by writing a full second script. After it was submitted, a series order soon followed.”
Production on Conviction is expected to begin this June in New York. No other casting beyond Moss has been announced, and a release date has not yet been set.
