General Hospital alum Greg Vaughan is now a part of Beyond the Gates, and things are looking up for the soap star, who has big plans moving ahead in his career. This comes after a relatively dry spell, but as explained by him in a recent interview, he is ready to look ahead.
He had retreated from the acting world after a health scare in 2024.
Greg Vaughan explains what’s next after his break from work
Greg Vaughan has been a key figure in the soap opera world. From his roles in Days of Our Lives to General Hospital to his more recent addition, Beyond the Gates, the actor has become a household name for soap opera fans.
However, the actor took a year-long hiatus from work after he had a major health scare in March 2024 during a Colorado spring break trip with his children.
“Trust me, I’m itchy and OCD, so when I’m not working, it’s, ‘Got tuition to pay! Oh my God, another check for the school! But when I’m getting stressed emotionally, financially, or whatever have you, I’m like, ‘Faith over fear. Just sit in your roots, and doors will open when it’s time. This is where you need to be right now.’ I embraced it,” the actor explained about his dry spell to Woman’s World.
However, now that he is back in a very exciting role in Beyond the Gates, the actor only has the future in sight. After explaining how producer Michele Val Jean, whom he knew from his General Hospital Days, insisted on his playing the role of Kial Rollins, the actor explained his plan going forward.
While answering how he felt about the career he built, the actor said, “It’s still building.” He continued, “I’m very proud of where I am. It’s such a great realm, daytime, so I keep going back. But I find my way into primetime, and I’m reading for a great movie right now, with two big stars. I’m writing more. I’m just putting my best foot forward.”
Vaughan has made quite a great impression on his first appearance in Beyond the Gates.
