Charlie Cox directly addressed fan theories suggesting Foggy Nelson is still alive in Daredevil: Born Again. In an interview during a recent convention, Cox stated, “Daredevil heard his heart stop. In the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, Foggy Nelson, portrayed by Elden Henson, is killed in the first episode. The character is shot by Dex Poindexter, also known as Bullseye, who is revealed to be under the manipulation of Vanessa Fisk, the wife of crime lord Wilson Fisk. The event occurs early in the season and sets a darker tone for the story.

The death of Foggy deeply impacts Matt Murdock and Karen Page, emotionally anchoring the season. Despite speculation that Foggy may be in witness protection or could return in a twist, Cox rejected those ideas publicly. He emphasized that the character’s death is final and not part of a misdirect.

Fan theories emerged largely due to Marvel’s pattern of reviving characters and the multiverse framework, which has allowed for the return of figures like Spider-Man and others following major universe-altering events.
