As anticipation builds for the next chapter of Daredevil: Born Again, fresh details about Season 2 have begun to surface. A newly released image and recent comments from the creative team hint at a significant shift in the story’s timeline and the state of New York when the series returns.
Daredevil: Born Again showrunner reveals when Season 2 takes place
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 will begin with a six-month time jump following Wilson Fisk’s declaration of martial law in Season 1.
In an interview with SFX Magazine, showrunner Dario Scardapane said, “Fisk has won, the city is gradually being put under his boot and we pick up all of our major players around six months later. The Fisk administration at this point has really taken hold. At the same time, there’s a bubbling up of an underground.”
He added, “New York is being transformed. Some people might call that a rebirth, some might call it decay. And the characters are being transformed by dint of huge political machinations.” Season 1 ended with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk consolidating power as mayor, imposing martial law, and launching a crackdown on vigilantes.
SFX originally published the interview on February 25, 2026. Disney+ will premiere Season 2 on March 24, 2026.
Daredevil Born Again unveils new look at Charlie Cox’s superhero in Season 2
On February 26, 2026, Collider shared a new Season 2 image featuring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock. The outlet posted the image alongside its coverage previewing the upcoming season ahead of its Disney+ debut.
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, alongside Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson. Michael Gandolfini also reprises his role as Daniel Blake, with Wilson Bethel returning as Bullseye and Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones.
Matthew Lillard has joined the cast, while Jon Bernthal will not return as Frank Castle. Season 2 is currently in production and continues the conflict between Murdock and Fisk, who is operating from an established position of authority following his political ascent.
