Peacock subscribers can now watch one of 2024’s most acclaimed drama thriller movies from Focus Features. During its theatrical run, the Ralph Fiennes-led film earned a worldwide gross of around $128 million at the box office against its reported budget of $20 million.

Beginning today, Fiennes’s controversial movie Conclave is now available to stream on Peacock. After its debut, the 2024 award-winning film faced criticism from conservative catholics, who weren’t happy with its twist ending. Despite this, it was still an instant hit among critics and moviegoers alike. The movie currently holds a Certified Fresh score of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 336 reviews.
“The film follows one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events — selecting the new pope. Cardinal Lawrence is tasked with running this covert process after the unexpected death of the beloved Pope,” reads the synopsis. “Once the Catholic Church’s most powerful leaders have gathered from around the world and are locked together in the Vatican halls, Lawrence uncovers a trail of deep secrets left in the dead Pope’s wake, secrets which could shake the foundations of the Church.”
Conclave was directed by All Quiet on the Western Front filmmaker Edward Berger, with Peter Straughan writing the screenplay based on Robert Harris’ best-selling novel. The cast also included Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Carlos Diehz, Lucian Msamati, Brían F. O’Byrne, Merab Ninidze, Sergio Castellitto, and Isabella Rossellini. It was executive-produced by Steven Rales, Glen Basner, Alison Cohen, Milan Popelka, Ben Browning, Len Blavatnik, Danny Cohen, Zoe Edwards, Harry Dixon, Paul Randle, Tomas Alfredson, Edward Berger, Ralph Fiennes, Peter Straughan, Robyn Slovo, Mario Gianani, and Lorenzo Gangarossa.
