In the build-up to the release of Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2, Julia Quinn has come out to shed light on the show’s trajectory. The author, who has penned the eight Bridgerton novels that serve as the source material for the hit Netflix series, talked about the characters the show would focus on in upcoming seasons and if there are any major recasts on the cards.
Julia Quinn thinks Hyacinth and Gregory won’t be recast in later Bridgerton seasons
In a recent interview, the best-selling author confirmed that Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Francesca (Hannah Dodd) will be taking center stage in the next two Bridgerton installments.
“[Showrunner] Jess [Brownell] has said the next two seasons will be either Eloise and then Francesca or Francesca and then Eloise, which makes sense,” Julia Quinn noted to Us Weekly.
Quinn then opened up about the possible recasting of Hyacinth (Florence Hunt) and Gregory (Will Tilston) in future Bridgerton seasons. The writer initially believed that the said roles would feature new actors down the line. However, she no longer holds that view. “It takes a few years to film, so by the time we get to Hyacinth and Gregory, the actors are going to be well into their 20s. So I think it’ll probably be OK,” Quinn remarked.
Talking about Gregory Bridgerton’s arc in the show, the Splendid Trilogy author added, “His story is very different. He’s desperate to fall in love. He’s this total romantic, and he’s so excited to fall in love. He falls in love with the wrong person to start out with.”
Finally, Julia Quinn admitted that she is eager to see Eloise’s arc pan out in the upcoming Bridgerton seasons. “I love her story,” she said of the character’s romance with Phillip (Chris Fulton). “He’s got two kids who she has got to wrangle, which is awesome. The fact that Eloise is going to have an instant family is awesome. His twins are pretty ruthless to her, so I hope they keep stuff like that in.”
Albeit, whether Fulton, whose last Bridgerton appearance came in Season 2, will come back to reprise is role is a topic that Quinn has no knowledge about.
Bridgerton Season 4 Part 2 is currently on track to premiere on Netflix on February 26, 2026.
