Eager to know the spoilers and recap for The Bold and the Beautiful for January 16?

The episode begins with Ridge and Brooke happily welcoming RJ back and filling him in on the ongoing drama involving Katie. Acting sensibly, RJ helps his mother see that there’s nothing she can do about the business name now and encourages her to move on. Brooke agrees and becomes determined to make things right.

Meanwhile, Ridge admits to RJ that he’s still curious about Katie’s business and how it will all unfold. The moment is interrupted when Electra walks into the office, instantly sparking intrigue between her and RJ. Ridge steps in and formally introduces them, noticing right away that RJ is smitten with Electra.

Spoilers for what happened on The Bold and the Beautiful on January 16, 2026

Katie informs Bill about Eric joining

Katie tells Bill they need a lead designer and then reveals she has already hired Eric Forrester. Bill reacts with shock and questions whether Eric is truly ready to walk away from the company that bears his name and is now run by Ridge. He also wonders if Eric joined Katie to get back at his son for forcing him into retirement.

However, Katie quickly shuts down those assumptions. When Bill suggests making a big announcement about their new designer, she insists that she doesn’t want to reveal it just yet. Respecting her wishes, Bill agrees and congratulates her.

Donna is worried about Eric’s decision

Eric informs Donna that he will be Katie’s lead designer, leaving her stunned. He tries to convince her that he’s happy with his decision and urges her to keep it a secret from Ridge and Brooke. However, Donna worries about his health and how Ridge and Brooke might take the news personally. Eric argues that healthy competition is a good thing and refuses to change his mind.

Brooke visits Katie to make things right

Brooke meets with Katie in an attempt to clear the air between them. She admits that while the use of the Logan name bothers her, she’s even more troubled by the strain it has put on their relationship.

Katie points out how unsupportive Brooke has been and makes it clear that she has no intention of changing her business name. Brooke insists she didn’t come to argue about the name but to make peace. Katie agrees that she’s open to being on good terms, though she knows Brooke still won’t support her or her business.

RJ flirts with Electra

When Electra comes to the office, she shows RJ the jewelry, which he finds beautiful. She places it in the safe but then realizes she is still wearing one necklace. She asks RJ to help her remove it, and as he does, he makes a flirtatious comment, hinting at growing chemistry between them. Meanwhile, Eric remains excited about his opportunity with Katie’s business and again asks Donna not to tell Ridge, saying he will do it himself when the time is right.

Brooke runs into Eric

Brooke praises Katie for successfully running the business on her own. Encouraged by how things are going, Katie reveals that she has hired a lead designer. When Brooke asks who it is, Eric walks in, and the realization hits Brooke immediately, prompting a stunned, icy glare.
