Following the critical success of the 2022 biographical drama Elvis, acclaimed filmmaker Baz Luhrmann is once again debuting a brand new movie about the King of Rock and Roll. NEON and Universal Pictures have announced the release date for the limited IMAX screening of EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert.
The documentary had its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, where it received positive reviews from critics. It currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 14 reviews. The film is produced by Sony Music Vision, Bazmark, and Authentic Studios.
When is the release date for Baz Luhrmann’s new Elvis movie?
EPiC: Elvis Presley In Concert will be heading to IMAX theaters for a one-week exclusive engagement starting on February 20, 2026. Afterward, the documentary will then hit theaters everywhere on February 27, 2026.
“EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert features long-lost footage from Presley’s legendary Vegas residency in the 1970s, woven together with rare 16mm footage from Elvis on Tour and treasured 8mm film from the Graceland archive, along with rediscovered recordings of Elvis telling ‘his side of the story,'” reads the documentary movie’s official description. “The release will allow audiences around the world to immerse themselves in a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience, hearing Elvis perform and tell his story like never before, with the unmatched power of IMAX.”
At the moment, Luhrmann is also working on his next epic drama in the form of the Jehanne d’Arc movie, which is a Joan of Arc movie led by The Queen’s Gambit star Isla Johnston. It will be directed by Luhrmann from a screenplay he co-wrote with Ava Pickett. The project is currently in the pre-production phase.
