Halle Berry has weighed in on speculation surrounding her possible return as Storm in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. She addressed the rumors while promoting another project, as fans continue to hope for surprise appearances in the next Marvel movie.
Halle Berry on if Storm returns in Avengers: Doomsday
Halle Berry has addressed renewed speculation about a possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Storm in Avengers: Doomsday. Berry was asked about a possible return during a BBC Radio 1Xtra appearance with her Crime 101 co-star Chris Hemsworth, prompting a careful response.
Host Nadia Jae asked the pair whether Berry’s X-Men character Storm could reappear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically in Avengers: Doomsday. The question was initially met with laughter and a pause before Berry offered a careful response. Pressed on whether Storm might return in the multiverse, Berry said, “Yeah, I would love to. But, you know…” before breaking into laughter with Hemsworth. When the host followed up, Berry replied again, “Yeah, I would love to. But you know.” Moments later, she added more directly, “No. No.”
Despite that denial, Berry spoke warmly about the role and made clear she remains fond of the character. “First of all, I love Storm. I love Storm so much, like so many people. She’s a beloved character, and she’s one of my favorites, and I’m so proud of playing that character. So, yeah, I would come back for sure,” she added.
Berry’s comments come as Marvel prepares for two major releases in its franchise. Avengers: Doomsday is set to arrive on December 18, with Avengers: Secret Wars following on December 17, 2027. The upcoming films are already notable for their scale, with many Marvel characters confirmed to appear, including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Several actors from the original X-Men movies are already confirmed to be returning to their roles, such as Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler.
