Amber Heard’s DC character has resurfaced in a newly shared image. The image, shared by director Zack Snyder, showcases Heard’s portrayal of Mera and has quickly sparked speculation online.
Zack Snyder shares new photo of Amber Heard’s Mera
Zack Snyder has released another previously unseen image of Amber Heard in character as Mera, continuing his recent series of DC-related throwbacks. The filmmaker shared a black-and-white portrait of Heard on Instagram. The shot captures Heard facing the camera with an intense expression. In the caption, Snyder wrote, “@amberheard as Mera. Leica Monochrom + 50mm “dream lens” at f/0.95. Shot wide open.”
The post quickly drew significant attention across social media platforms. Some supporters praised Heard’s portrayal of the character. Meanwhile, others demanded the restoration of the Snyderverse. One user wrote, “Beautiful photograph, Director! You have great talent in everything you do.”
Another added, “Queen Mera, for ever! @amberheard the only SnyderVerse. We need a solo movie of Mera.” A third person commented, “Can we restore the snyderverse?” A fourth person wrote, “I really hope to see you and Amber working together again soon.”
The latest image follows a similar post from December 2025, when Snyder shared another previously unseen photograph of Amber Heard taken during early production on DC’s Justice League in Iceland. That image, also posted to Instagram, was captioned, “Mera @amberheard — photographed in Iceland with my Leica Q during production.” Heard first portrayed Mera in Justice League and later reprised the role in Aquaman, Zack Snyder’s Justice League, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
In recent months, Snyder has shared several unseen featuring other major characters from his DC films. This includes Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman. He has also released additional black and white photographs from past productions, reflecting on his time at the studio.
