A 2025 movie has climbed to the top of HBO Max’s streaming rankings. If I Had Legs I’d Kick You has expanded its reach on the streaming platform following its digital release, helped by awards season attention and strong reviews.
If I Had Legs I’d Kick You is #1 on HBO Max Top 10 list
The Rose Byrne-led film has surged to the top of HBO Max’s most-watched titles. It has held the number one position since February 1, 2026, according to FlixPatrol. The rise in streaming viewership arrived shortly after If I Had Legs I’d Kick You received Academy Award attention. This includes a Best Actress nomination for Byrne, which stands as its only Oscar nod.
The film arrived on HBO Max on January 30, 2026, after first opening in theaters on October 10, 2025. Its climb in the platform rankings suggests that the streaming debut has introduced the title to a broader audience after its limited box office performance.
In the film, Byrne stars as Linda, a mother pushed to the brink while juggling multiple crises at once. Her young daughter, played by Delaney Quinn, faces serious health complications. She is placed in a treatment program aimed at helping her regain weight, including the use of a feeding tube that Linda must carefully manage.
At the same time, Linda struggles with the absence of her husband, portrayed by Christian Slater. She becomes entangled in a missing persons case and faces a growing conflict with her therapist. The ensemble cast also includes Conan O’Brien in the role of Linda’s therapist, Danielle Macdonald as Caroline, and ASAP Rocky as James.
Reviews have been strongly positive overall. The project currently holds a 91% score based on 195 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, it carries a 79% rating from audiences on Popcornmeter. During its theatrical run, the project generated roughly $1.4 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo.
