HBO has shared a new behind-the-scenes look at A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms following the end of its first season. The newly released gag reel highlights lighthearted moments from the set, with several cast members, including Dexter Sol Ansell, featured in a series of on-camera bloopers.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms gets blooper filled gag reel
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms released a season one blooper reel after the finale aired on February 22.
The video offers viewers nearly two minutes of outtakes featuring Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg. The reel includes cast members breaking character, grinning at the camera, and missing lines during filming.
The outtakes show Claffey during a fight scene with Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen and Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen stumbling over dialogue. One commenter wrote, “1:15 isn’t even a blooper. That’s just Maekar.” Another moment features Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway in a comedic scene, while Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon forgets lyrics to a bawdy song while performing shirtless.
The series premiered in January 2026 on HBO. It is based on George R. R. Martin’s novella The Hedge Knight and follows Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, a century before the events of Game of Thrones. The show holds a 94% Tomatometer score and a 77% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Ratings increased throughout the season, with the finale drawing series-high viewership. Episodes received high user scores on IMDb. HBO has already begun production on season two, which will adapt the novella The Sworn Sword.
Filming is currently underway, and HBO is targeting a 2027 release, likely early in the year. Unlike House of the Dragon, which has taken two-year gaps between seasons, the creators structured this series for shorter waits because of its smaller scale, fewer episodes, and absence of dragons.
