Woman fatally mauled by dog in her home in South Australia

The dog was taken away after the 39-year-old died at her home.

A dog has been put down after it fatally mauled a woman inside her own home north-west of Adelaide.

The 39-year-old was killed after being attacked in Whyalla Stuart after 4pm yesterday.

Paramedics had tried to save her, but it was too late.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner and working to understand what happened.

Whyalla City Council said it organised the euthanasia of the dog shortly after the attack.
