Woman charged with murder over death of baby in Perth's south

The eight-month-old was found dead at a home about 40km south of Perth.

A woman has been charged with murder after the death of a baby in Perth's southern suburbs. 

Emergency services found the eight-month-old dead at a home in Baldivis about 10.15am yesterday after neighbours reported hearing a woman screaming out the front of the property.

Detectives deemed the death suspicious and began questioning a woman as they tried to work out what happened.

The 28-year-old, who was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital in a stable condition, has since been charged with murder.

She was due to face the Rockingham Magistrates Court later today, but her appearance has been postponed as she remains in hospital.

She will face court at an undetermined later date.
