The club also posted a statement on its Facebook page overnight.

"We wish to acknowledge an unexpected incident occurring at the CUFC grounds this evening, at approximately 5pm," the statement read.

"Out of privacy for those directly impacted, it is not yet appropriate to share details of the incident, though it is important to share that those in and around the grounds, including both members and emergency services, showed admirable action, respect and care for each other."

They urged the club community to remain respectful online, avoid "unhelpful speculation", and check in with one another.
