One man dead after five turn up at Sydney hospitals after shooting

At least one man has died and four others are in a serious condition following an alleged shooting in Sydney's south-west.

All five men took themselves to two separate hospitals with life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to Liverpool Hospital after the first two men, both believed to be aged in their 20s, presented with multiple wounds about 8.30pm.

"One of the men underwent treatment, however, died a short time later," NSW Police said.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The other man remained in hospital in a stable condition.

About 10 minutes later, two men presented to Fairfield Hospital in a critical condition and were being treated, police said.

More than an hour later, at 9.50pm, the fifth man, believed to be a 19-year-old, appeared at Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition and was being treated for injuries.

Police set up a crime scene at a home in Canley Heights.

Officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command – with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – are investigating.
