Australians are being urged to spend a few minutes checking if they are eligible for a portion of the cash.
The sum includes share dividends, trust accounts, refunds, commissions, deceased estates and money from a range of other sources.

The money is often lost because of name or address changes.

New South Wales
Revenue NSW maintains an unclaimed money register for the state and offers a free online service for individuals to find and claim lost cash they may be entitled to.
