Home in Sydney's west sprayed with bullets while three people slept

Police were called to a home in Guildford West about 12.30am today following reports a number of shots had been fired.

An investigation into an alleged shooting is now under way after a home in Sydney's west was sprayed with bullets overnight.

Police were called to a home in Guildford West about 12.30am today after reports a number of shots had been fired.

Three people – two women and a child – were inside at the time but were not injured.

A white hatchback was reportedly seen leaving the scene after the incident.

Emergency services were then called to James Street in Guildford West about 3.20am after reports of a car fire.

Police found a white hatchback alight at the scene.

Firefighters arrived to extinguish the blaze.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

Police have established multiple crime scenes and an investigation into the two incidents, including whether they are linked, is under way.
