Ex-bikie's son kidnapped from home, found dead in park hours later

The son of a former Mongols bikie has been found dead in a Melbourne park, hours after he was kidnapped from a home on the other side of the city.

Patrick Longordo, the son of former Mongols bikie Joseph Longordo, was attacked by a group of armed men who broke into in a South Morang home where he was sleeping about 3am.

The group, armed with machetes, dragged him into a car outside, while others inside the home, including children, were left behind.

Patrick Longordo, 30, was attacked inside a South Morang home before  his body was dumped in a Tarneit park.Police are investigating the cause of death of the 30-year-old.

"To be home in your house and have something like this happen is extremely frightening," Detective Inspector Dean Thomas said.

The 30-year-old's body was dumped at a playground near Bruni Drive in Tarneit about 4.30am and a a dark SUV was seen speeding away.

"It was a bit of a shock, to me and my wife, waking up to that in our quiet neighbourhood, it was a bit different and unusual," neighbour Chris said.

"It's a quiet area, nothing happens, yeah, it's just a shock to us," neighbour Rodney Ruskin said.

Longordo's body was found at a playground near Bruni Drive in Tarneit aorund 4.30am.

A postmortem is set to determine his cause of death.

Police are investigating whether the same car was ditched and torched in nearby Eynesbury.

Homicide detectives have spoken with the Echo Taskforce, which specifically investigates bikie gangs, but they say it's still too early to tell whether the kidnapping is related.

"We speak to Echo and we speak to a number of different work units just to piece it all together

"We're always concerned about retaliation; we'll work closely with, in this case with deceased family and associates."

Police are appealing to the public for information and have yet to make any arrests, as investigations continue.
