A 35-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing a 27-year-old during a fight at a home in south-east Queensland.

The man eventually sought out a house with its lights on.

"I come to the door, he had been stabbed on his right side ... he was in a bad state," a resident, who did not want to be identified, told 9News.
"There was blood everywhere."
The woman said she had been hesitant to open the door to the injured man.
"I was scared, because I have kids."
The man eventually left in a state of panic before police and paramedics found him on a footpath nearby about 10pm.
The 27-year-old from Regents Park suffered an alleged stab wound to the chest.

He was fighting for life at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Police arrested the 35-year-old Park Ridge man at the home of the alleged fight and said they found a knife that had allegedly been used.
The man was charged with attempted murder.
Police said the pair knew each other.
The Park Ridge man was kept in custody to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court.
