Original (Oct. 17): A24 has set the release date for The Drama, an upcoming romantic comedy starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya.

What is the release date for The Drama starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya?

The Drama is scheduled to be released in theaters on April 3, 2026. The rom-com will open alongside The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the animated sequel to the billion-dollar Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Kristoffer Borgli writes and directs The Drama. Borgli is best known for writing and directing 2023’s Dream Scenario, a satirical dramedy starring Nicolas Cage. Dream Scenario garnered positive reviews, with Cage receiving a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

The Drama’s ensemble includes Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Gates.

Plot details are under wraps. Per Variety, The Drama will follow “a couple whose romance faces unexpected hurdles ahead of their big day.”

Square Peg’s Ari Aster and Lars Knudsen will produce, with Borgli and Tyler Campellone producing through Dilemma Films. A24 is the studio behind The Drama.

Earlier this year, Pattinson starred in Mickey 17, Bong Joon Ho’s first movie since the Oscar-winning hit, Parasite. Pattinson will soon star alongside Jennifer Lawrence in Lynne Ramsey’s Die, My Love, in theaters on November 7.

Zendaya is coming off a successful 2024, which included starring roles in Dune: Part II and Challengers. Next year, Zendaya will reprise her Emmy-winning role of Rue in Euphoria Season 3.

The Drama is not the only 2026 movie featuring Pattinson and Zendaya. The two are co-stars in two epic films: The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three.

The Odyssey is Christopher Nolan’s feature film adaptation of the Greek epic by Homer. Matt Damon stars as Odysseus, the Greek king who embarks on a treacherous journey home after the Trojan War. The Odyssey opens in theaters on July 17, 2026.

Dune: Part Three is the third installment in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune trilogy. Filming is currently underway. Dune: Part Three is scheduled to release on December 18, 2026.
