Netflix‘s extensive TV library expands with the addition of one of NBC’s most popular shows to date. Before this, subscribers already had access to complete seasons of iconic shows such as Seinfeld, Arrested Development, Sex and the City, Lost, Gilmore Girls, Dawson’s Creek, and Full House.

What is the hit NBC show now streaming on Netflix?

As of today, Netflix users can now stream all seven seasons of The West Wing, the award-winning political drama which ran on-air on NBC from 1999 to 2006. This comes after series alums Allison Janney and Bradley Whitford recently reunited in the latest season of Netflix’s The Diplomat series, which featured them playing a married couple.

“Cutthroat presidential advisers get their personal lives hopelessly tangled up with professional duties as they try to conduct the business of running a country. Fictional Democratic President Josiah ‘Jed’ Bartlet suffers no fools, and that policy alienates many,” reads the show’s synopsis (via Rotten Tomatoes). “He and his dedicated staffers struggle to balance the needs of the country with the political realities of Washington, D.C., working through two presidential terms that include countless scandals, threats, and political scuffles, as well as the race to succeed Bartlet as the leader of the free world.”

The West Wing was created and executive-produced by Emmy winner Aaron Sorkin. The ensemble cast included Rob Lowe, Stockard Channing, Emmy nominee Dulé Hill, Janney, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, John Spencer, Whitford, and Martin Sheen. Over its seven-season run, the show became one of the most critically acclaimed and lauded shows in television history with 27 Primetime Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, and two Golden Globe Awards. It currently holds an average Tomatometer rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
