Netflix has set the streaming release date for the hit 2019 sports movie featuring Matt Damon and Christian Bale. Ford v Ferrari will begin streaming on Netflix in the United States on January 1, 2026, as per What’s on Netflix. The film is currently streaming on Hulu.
The film boasts an impressive 92% fresh and 98% audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, Metacritic has given the film a user score of 8.3 and a metascore of 81, both indicating “Universal Acclaim.”
Following its release, Ford v Ferrari was selected by the National Board of Review as one of the 10 best films of 2019. In addition, the film was nominated for four awards at the 92nd Academy Awards: Best Picture of the Year, Best Sound Mixing, Best Film Editing, and Best Sound Editing. Out of the four nominations, the film won Best Film Editing and Best Sound Editing.
Set against the backdrop of the corporate rivalry between Ford Motor Company and racing team Scuderia Ferrari, Ford v Ferrari follows a team of American and English engineers and designers led by Carroll Shelby, an automotive designer, and English driver Ken Miles. The team is hired by Henry Ford II and Lee Iacocca to build a race car capable of defeating Scuderia Ferrari.
James Mangold directed the film from a screenplay written by brothers John-Henry and Jez Butterworth, and Jason Keller.
Besides Bale and Matt Damon, Ford v Ferrari also stars Jon Bernthal, Caitríona Balfe, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Tracy Letts, Remo Girone, and Ray McKinnon.
